Man Criticized for Spending Thousands of Dollars on Plastic Surgery to Look Like Anime Character

More and more people are turning to plastic surgery just to become what they think is beautiful. People spend thousands just to make their skin look clearer, their bodies look skinnier, and for some, to look like the person or ‘character’ they wish to look like. Plastic surgery is everywhere. It is readily available, and people are drawn more to it. But how far would you go for beauty?
21-year-old Amirul Rizwan Musa, from city of Kelantan in Malaysia ,says all the plastic surgery he went through was meant to cover the marks left by chicken pox on his face, although he does admit that his love for anime did influence his new look.
He said: “After I contracted chicken pox when I was 16, my skin condition deteriorated and my self-esteem took a plunge.

“I was obsessed with anime characters and I felt ashamed that I looked the way I did back then so I decided to undergo plastic surgery to boost my confidence.”
He wanted society to finally accept him through changing how he looked. Unfortunately for Amirul, not many supported him and many netizens criticized him for his choices.
Apparently, Musa was able to finance the surgeries after winning an online beauty competition. Some sources claims that he has so far spent around RM200,000 ($46,500) on plastic surgery, but he has yet to confirm the cost.Amirul added: “I won the Ulzzang Asia online competition back in 2012 and decided to do plastic surgery after I was offered to become a model following the win.”
